Eagle Rock Los Angeles Homes

Eagle Rock is a charming neighborhood in northeast Los Angeles named after a famous rock formation that looks like an eagle.   Established in 1911, this popular area has seen a lot of changes in the last 10 years.  The vibe of this neighborhood is a laid back, small town feel, with family owned businesses and people who have lived there for 30 years.   It’s also been a popular place for the movie industry to film with its close proximity to studios.  Movies such as Top Gun, The Hunt for Red October, and the tv series Beverly Hills, 90210 (I think I stopped watching that show by that point in the series). You’ll find a lot of craftsman style architecture here, in addition to some spanish bungalows, and some modern properties with amazing views up in the hills.

Everyone always talks about travel time when you’re in Los Angeles, and if you want to be close enough to the action but not right in the middle of it, this is a great option.  Eagle Rock is surrounded by easily accessible freeways: the 2, the 134, the 110, and the 5 are all close by for speedy travel anywhere you want to go.  The main thoroughfares in the neighborhood are Eagle Rock Blvd, Colorado Blvd, Yosemite Dr, and York Blvd (which is shared with another popular neighborhood Highland Park)

Eagle Rock is an ethnically diverse community known for being the home of Occidental College.  There are nine public schools (with two high schools), and six private schools.
